Promesse Kamanda, The famous TikTok in Rwanda and a professional photographer has shared her journey since day one.
Like other children, she grew up with different dreams.
"Begin to weave and God will give the thread"
This proverb reminds us to have faith in our dreams. Promesse Kamanda who wished to be a singer, bishop, journalist, photographer, and storyteller has not given up.
After high school, I used to go to see my friend, producer Ngaji. I was so determined to become an artist. At that time, that is when I met with Bushali,B-threy and Pogasta. There are even songs we recorded but I don't know where they are.

She is a brave young lady, who always seems to be committed to what she wants.
Her popularity on social media gave her more fans. Social media user most of them knows the name Kamanda.
But who is Kamanda?

She was born on her parent’s wedding anniversary. that is where her name Promesse comes from. Promesse is her nickname. Her real names are Isimbi Kamanda Assumpta.
She comes from a family of five children but during the Genocide, her eldest brother died.
And she lost her Dad in 2015.
During her childhood, her mother used to take photos of them with her siblings.
Suddenly one day she broke her mother's camera. She promised her mother that "if she grows up, she will buy for her a new camera".
Time flies, her love for camera keeps on growing until she met friends who do photography and she joined them. She continues by saying, most of my friends quitted because of how this work is complicated. But for me, I didn't quit, I said to myself "the thing that is making me keep on, will never make me give up".
She kept on doing photography up to now. Challenges are part of work, mainly when you're a girl, they are some suspect that comes to people's mind wondering if a girl can make it better than boys.
But Kamanda says" Being a girl in this industry, people doubt about you. They think you can not handle a heavy lens or tripod. And even think that this girl is lazy, she can not perform well. but still, I know, if you love something, you find a way to do it so well.
The reason why I love photography is that photography helps me to tell a story in detail using images or pictures without saying any words.
Another reason is that" I earn from photography".
Promise's mother is very supportive of her. Her mother does her best and advises her on the path she has chosen to move forward.
Nothing is better than doing what you love and having a supportive family.
Apart from that, she is a hard worker.
A dream does not become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination, and hard work.
